We have reservations on the Canadien between Toronto and Vancouver and back the first week in October. Is the dress casual? How much room do you have in a double room for a suitcase? Will a large 6'3" person have trouble fitting in a bunk? Any other tips to help make the trip better would be really appreciated. This is the first sleeper train trip I have taken since 40 years ago, and the first ever for my wife and our two friends. TIA

I'm 6'3" and have no trouble with the bunks. In fact, I think the mattresses on these older cars are thicker than what AMTRAK provides.

Dress is casual, and you ought to be able to put one suitcase in the double room.

Nice time of year for that trip!
