Hi everyone! I heard how Amtrak might cut out a sleeper, a coach, and maybe the diner on the Texas Eagle. This would decreese ridership on the train. I heard how rail actavists "Saved the Texas Eagle." Are we gonna be able to do it again?

I saw the Eagle yesterday while I was at Union Station looking at a STL car company Dinner Train, the train was on a siding where they display trains. I saw the Eagle go by on the main line. 7 cars= Lounge, Diner included.

Yeah, that's why they shouldn't do anything to the diner service. Not even half way into the run and we're out of food! Not cool!

What do you do to help out Amtrak anyway? 1. Write letters to elected officials 2. Become a member of a state- or national-based rail advocacy group, or both, and provide feedback to those organizations 3. Buy a ticket 4. Take pictures while you still can

I don't like the sound of this - I was planning to take the Eagle from St Louis to LAX later in the year but don't fancy 30 hours and two nights in coach. Presumably they'd keep the through sleeper on the days it connects with the Sunset?
