Want to travel Amtrak from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Atlantic City, NJ. Is getting a sleeper the best option for this trip (and where can i get it from & to) I will be traveling by myself. (Amtrak.com can't process the trip for some reason so any help would be appreciated)

i know you can go to chicago from grang rapids on the pere marquette. from chicago you can go to new york or philly. amtrak does not serve atlantic city anymore. but i think you can take new jersey transit to there. amtraks 800 # probably can help you with what city is the best bet to make your connection from. if you can afford a sleeper that is the way to go. have fun

Amtrak provides through ticketing to Atlantic City. NJ Transit provides the service between 30th Street Station in Philadelphia and Atlantic City on it's Atlantic City Line (meaning unreserved coach/commuter rail seating), but Amtrak does have the schedules/tickets for it.
