We are all keeping our fingers crossed but it seems we're another step closer to Boston to Portland service. Guilford has decided not to fight the court ruling that will allow Amtrak to operate at 79 mph with 115 lb. rail. The track is upgraded, the next step is to settle the issues of stations and platforms. It is speculated that service could start this fall.

It's amazing that Guilford isn't fighting anymore. Now that 79MPH is the limit, Amtrak will be in the competion of air and Interstate. It would be great if service could start this fall. Another "+" in the books!
