The incident that happened to Metrolink train #102 (16) from OXN at SIM (17) reminds us why the "Right And Ready" program also applies to Metrolink. Train 102 (normally turns as 103/108 making a roundtrip from LAX-CWT-LAX) made it into LAX at 8:20A, 1 hour, 9 minutes later than regular schedule advertised time.) Train #104, 37 minutes behind #102 combined to this train, shooving it into LAX where it pulled in on track #8, causing Metrolink #605 from OSD to arrive on track #11 (first time I saw a Metrolink that far over to the east side of the station.) Incidentally, train #3, the Southwest Chief arrive on track 12 on time yesterday. Train #601 from Oceanside became the replacement to Ventura trains #103/108. This caused a crew replacement on #107/114 (the normal Moorpark turn filled by the OSD-1 Crew). Apparently the VC train ran out of gas at SIM, causing delays to passengers boarding both 102 and 104 at stations between CWT and LAX and train 101's PAX boarding at SIM going to MPK for 110.
Amtrak #772 was behind this mess, and was 15 minutes late .... with SMURF equipment from the previous day's 783.
