I was reading a reply to a post in which a poster named "Admin" claimed to be the moderator who deleted the toyloves**** posts. However, next to his name it said newmember. I was just thinking that if this person where really the moderator, they wouldnt be considered a newmember. Furthermore, the railforum page says moderated by TrainWeb.
But since this board is about trains, ill add a train question to this post.
I was on the Coast Starlight and on the way down from N. California our train picked up a CAL TRAIN engine, in San Jose, that pulled us all the way to Los Angeles. I was just wondering if Amtrak and local rail lines are able to do such sharing of engines/cars.
When I was on the Starlight last time, a Caltrain locomotive was the lead engein!
Some nice poeple I met on the train said that the Starlight the day before had brought it down from San Jose because it needed a part and after it got the part it would be put at the lead of our train back to San Jose. And in San Jose the train stoped to leave the Cal Train locomotive.
I guess you must have rode the Starlight the day before I did!

I've also seen Amtrak F40s pull Metrolink cars, that was back when Metrolink was still a new comutter railway and didnt already have enough of there own locomotives. And back when Amtrak had a shortage of Amfleet coaches, Cal Train loaned them some of there coaches and on the San Diago route I was able to ride one!

San Antonio is a great city. I took the Eagle down there in 2001 and it was a great trip. The Riverwalk at the time was under serious construction, so it can only be better.
BTW who plays in the Alamo Bowl this year.

The lounge is a good bet to be on there. I go downtown to STL every once in a while to take a gander at the Eagle and now a days the lounge is on there.
There is usually one sleeper but I think its available to everyone who wants it, and there is rooms available for passengers in the transition if need be.
