I finally got around to uploading some of the pictures from our trip on the Sunset Limited. Here's a link if you'd like to see: http://members.tripod.com/marchandhome/Posts: 33 | From: Louisiana | Registered: Dec 2003

Thanks for the link. No written trip report was necessary. The fact that Ben had his nose glued to the car window -- especially after dark -- says it all: the kid is seriously hooked on train travel.
The best part is that he had the chance to share the trip with his dad. Even forty years from now, he'll relive it every time he steps onto a train. It's a memory that will stay with him for the rest of his life.

I will warn you though, my brother was a serious train boy at an early age after my parents took him on a trip from STL to CHI in which he to was glued to the window most of the time. The sad thing is, is that he has now grown apart from this mode of transportation.
No clue as to why but he prefers Airlines and Buses to trains.

I surely hope he continues to be a railfan! I've already gotten another trip scheduled for us to take this month! We'll be going on the Sunset Limited again from New Orleans to Winter park this time and spending 3 nights in Orlando and a day at Disney World before heading back home.
