I'm a pretty new member who joined to ask about a then-upcoming trip to Pittsburgh. Full Members Gilbert B Norman and Yellowstonetim were kind enough to give me info, which I used on my trip. Now that I am back, I am wondering: Should I post a short trip report here? Or a longer one elsewhere on the website? Or do only Full Members post trip reports? Or might this be too short or frequently used a route for anyone to be interested in a trip report at all? I am happy to perform whatever is the usual procedure. (And thanks again for the travel tips.)

I'd by happy to read whatever you have to say about it - and I hope you enjoyed it!
I know little to nothing about the eastern routes.

Well, if your trip was on Amtrak or Via you could post it here, as many do. There is also a category in the forum for trip reports which you could use. Either way we'd all love to read it.

Some people, including myself post more detailed travelogues on web pages we have. But that is not a prerequisite. Anyone can feel free to post anything related to Amtrak and Via here.

(And with what little free time I've had recently, I'm finally starting to upload my latest. I'll let everyone when it is ready for public consumption.)

Passengers will please refrain,
From flushing toilets while the train,
Is standing in the station,
I love you.

Sorry if he's not a full member; I thought I saw that he was, but maybe it was a different post I'm thinking of!

Meanwhile, I will gather my notes and post about my trip here soon!

Thanks for your responses.

I think you need 30 posts or something to become a "full member." But anybody on this forum can post trip reports.....

No I am not a full member - unless you count that I just had breakfast. I have only posted a few times. I mostly have asked for help with my upcoming Three Rivers/California Zephyr trip from Harrisburg to Sacatomatoes and back with my son.

If I remember correctly, sojourner, you were asking about the Three Rivers from Harrisburg west which is near where I live. I am glad I could help. Please post your trip report. The longer and more detailed the better!

I don't have the time to post very often, but I do enjoy this site very much and it has been very helpful.

BTW, what makes a person a full member?

Where's your trip report sojourner? Mr. Toy has put a link here to his excellent report and there are some that have been text put directly into the forum.

I'm doing a trip in June and like reading other peoples trips to give me an insight to how my trip might go...
