After considering the advice of others on an earlier post of mine regarding the Starlight-Surfliner connection, I've rearranged my schedule. I now have an extra day that enables me to spend the night in Santa Barbara instead of LA. Now, I'm looking at hotels.

Are there any hotels in Santa Barbara that allow one night's stay on a weekend night? I'd be checking in Friday evening and checking out on Saturday morning.

I live in Santa Barbara and it is going to be tough to find a place that will take a one night reservation. This town is busy all year round now but Memorial Day to Labor Day is very busy.

A friend was able to get a room for one night for this weekend but it is at the Extended Stay America in Goleta (10+ miles from downtown but only about 3 from the Goleta Amtrak Station).

You might try the El Prado Motel on State Street. They sometimes have cancellations and have been more flexible in the past when we've tried booking people in. It's about five blocks up State from the center of downtown.
