I rode it from Buffalo to Toronto back on April 21st. It was 5 minutes late into Buffalo but 15 minutes early into Toronto. Consist was 1 P32 Engine, 3 Amfleet Coaches, and a cafe/dinette car. The coaches were of the unrefurbished short-haul variety without leg rests or extra leg room. Not the cleanest I have seen either. There is business class offered but I never made it back there to check it out. We stopped just across the border in Niagra Falls, Canada to pass customs and immigration, which involved just sitting on the train as the Canadian officials passed through, asked a few questions and took our papers. Be sure to have either a passport or a current gov. issue photo ID with a original or certified birth certificate. They allow lots of time in the schedule for this so we just sat or quite awhile after this was accomplished before departing. You could get off the train and walk around but unfortunately it was pouring rain that day. The train was not at all crowded. The on-board service staff and conductors were very freindly. Scenery included going over the gorge near Niagra Falls, and along the lake in Canada.

Many thanks COACHCLASS! When I lived in New York, Niagara Falls, Ont. and Toronto at various times I used to ride it every week for various purposes. Always enjoyed it but when I rode it in the 60's, 70's and 80's the cars were fancy Amfleet with foot rests, a full dining car, fold-down tables, club car and at least 6 coaches.

WOW! A full dining car on 64, 6 coaches, gosh, I rode that train in January from Niagara Falls, NY to Albany, we had 1 P40DC for power, and 4 Amfleet I Coaches and an Amfleet I Metroliner Dinette Cafe Car, my how times have changed!!! One would think with the distance that train has to travel, that it would have long-distance equipment on it, but as we all know with Amtrak's equipment shortage, that's not likely to happen anytime soon. I rode Train #49 home from Albany the following day on that trip and we had 3 Horizon Coaches and a Horizon Cafe Car in the consist! Wierd!
