I checked with Amtrak and the UP rails are open for business for trains 11 and 14 Coast Starlight. No service disruptions as was the case a day or so ago from fires in the area.

Highway 101 was closed again today when the fire flared up. The local news said that "a railroad spokesman" said that it would be several days before the tracks would reopen.

I hope they are clear by the time you head through Ms. Breeze.

I hope so, too, SBALAX. I didn't realize the fire had flared up again. I called Amtrak this morning and was told the route was now open. Please keep us posted. Thank you!

Richard Hamilton of San Diego Rail (Lets Talk Trains) and yours truly representing RailPAC, attended the LOSSAN Meeting yesterday and this particular item was among many discussed.

It will be another 6 to 7 days before the line is completely open.

Although Richard and I were at the meeting, chrisg (see above), is a lot MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE than Richard and I on day-to-day operations on the corridor.

Thanks for the info, Chris. I assume the Surfliners are running again, too, to SLO?

There have been some pretty massive delays in recent days. Train 14 leaving 6/13 was about 19 hours late last time I checked.
