from Amtrak website:
Due to wire damage on Metro-North Railroad at New Rochelle, NY, trains operating between New York Penn Station and points north including New Haven, Providence and Boston are subject to delay. Passengers are encouraged to call 1-800-USA-RAIL for further information

Anybody know what happened?

I searched the news postings and did not see anything. Maybe a pantograph snagged some of the wire?

A Metro North local snagged the catenary and pulled the wires down on 3of the 4 tracks outside of New Rochelle. M_N was able to open the fourth track after a 1-2 hour delay, but Amtrak trains were held out of the area, some for several hours so M-N could run their trains first. Amtrak also bussed some passengers between NYP and NHV where Acela trains were turned in both locations and returned to both Was and Bos.
