well, I just arrived home from what can only be considered one of the best trips I have ever taken! Thanks to the weather a day was added to my trip when Amtrak cancelled train 48 which was to bring me home. It worked out for the best though because they put me up in a great hotel in Chicago and gave me money for food and cabs. I then got to spend a whole day wandering around the city and museums! I will type up a more detailed report of my 7500+ mile trip later this week (after I recover and dig my car out from 2 ft of snow! ) -Mike

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. Lucky for you Mother Nature allowed you an extra day. Train travel is so fun and you never know what each day brings. But at least your home safe. Please write a travel report I want to read your experiences.
