A co-worker who has traveled several times on Amtrak recommended wating to purchase tickets. He indicated that in the past (years unspecified) that Amtrak has run specials where instead of traveling half-off the kids were able to travel free as long as accompanied by an adult.
Has anyone else remember this happening?
Also, should we go ahead and purchase now or wait? Will fares increase closer to travel in May?
