Hi again [Smile]

As I said in a previous post we are a family of three. We have a nine year old daughter and are going from NOL to San Antonio and back in a few short weeks. We'll have a family bedroom on the trip to San Antonio and two roomettes going back. My question (today) is about meals. What exactly is included? Are drinks included? Are desserts? Also, is the nine year old required to eat a kid's meal? I'm assuming she might be since the FB is 2 adults/ 2 children but what about on the return? She's at that age where she doesn't always like the kids meal offerings - she tends to like adult food better and is not a chicken nugget/french fry kid. If her meal can only be a kid's meal, it's not a problem. We'll pay for the adult meal if she wants it but since she has Asperger's, it's better if I know things ahead of time. The not liking kids meal is a new thing with her. It's not the portion size but just that adult menus tend to have more interesting food.

Thanks [Smile]

Meals included with drinks and dessert, non-alcoholic of course. If you want beer or wine that is extra. There is a kids menu....not sure if they can order from the other. What is not included is a tip.

I am pretty sure your kids can order anything from the adult menu.

I have traveled in a bedroom (and will be traveling later this month) on the CA Zephyr and the Lake Shore Limited from Denver to NY and back with my now 7.5 year old son. We have taken this trip several times in the past and he has ordered from either menu, depending on what he has a taste for. There has never been any concern expressed by the diner staff. I anticipate he will have the same choices this trip.

Ira

PS - I used to live I Austin. Say hello to San Antonio for me. Used to go there regularly. I loved the river walk.

Be sure to visit the Alamo and when you do, read the list of names that died there. There are a lot of Spanish names. It was not just Anglo against Mexican. It was Anglo and a lot of Mexicans against Santa Ana.
