Last Tuesday, when I was on the 6:49AM Surfliner out of SBA I was surprised that it stopped at both BUR (Burbank Airport) and the downtown Burbank Metrolink stop. This isn't in the timetable and when I tried to book a seat online it doesn't show up as a station. Do any northbound Surfliners make that stop. It would be easier for a friend to pick me up there this week than at the airport stop or Glendale.

I was on 768 Southbound from SBA. It The current Timetable (11/17/04 Revised) doesn't show 798 stopping at Burbank, just Burbank Airport. What is the 3 letter code for what Metrolink calls Burbank Downtown? It doesn't show up in the Station List.

I leave Thursday night on the Southwest Chief, Saturday the Cardinal through the New River Gorge to NYC, a NJT Trip to High Bridge if I'm not too tired to wake up Monday morning, Lake Shore Limited to Chicago, Tuesday Texas Eagle to SAS and through to LAX on the Sunset Limited plus Surfliner both ways from Santa Ana.

Sounds like a great trip, Chris. I'll be looking for your usual entertaining trip report when you return.
I picked up my Surfliner tix today for a day trip to LAX on Tuesday and the agent at SBA told me that NO Surfliners stop at Burbank Downtown... We know better but I didn't want to take up her time. The ontime NB Starlight was due soon.
Today's Starlight had a "real" Parlour car, by the way, and arrived a bit early. It waited for an ontime 12:48PM departure.

Amtrak Trains 799 and 768 are the only Trains that stop at Downtown Burbank and at Northridge. This is due to the Rail to Rail Program. When Amtrak added the New SLO Train. Metrolink Cancel Trains 103 and 108. And Amtrak argeed to pick up all the Passengers that these Trains had. You will only see it in Metrolink's Ventura County Line and on the Metrolink website too. Under the Rail 2 Rail.

I think we have the explanation. The Burbank Downtown stop is not an Amtrak stop so that's why the res system won't sell you a ticket. It would be nice to see the stops mentioned in the Amtrak timetable, though. I expect I'll be getting off at Burbank Downtown tomorrow morning but will return from LAUPT. My ticket is SBA/LAX/SBA.

The conductor on yesterday's 785 told me that only 799 and and 768 make the Northridge and Burbank Downtown stops.
My trip on 785 LAX/SBA last night (03/22) was going great until they put us on a siding at Seacliff. The conductor first announced that it was for "Southbound Traffic" and then said that track inspectors were checking the rails after another round of torrential rain that caused some flooding and mudflow. After about 40 minutes we were cleared to proceed and arrived in SBA just about an hour late.
Incidentally, this was the first time that I had seen some but not all, of the seatback videos in Business Class working. I watched most of an episode of "West Wing" that I'd not seen while we waited at Seacliff. It was the one where they can't get the nose gear on AirForce One to come down.
