Ill be taking it soon, going from DC to Pittsburgh. Where are the best spots to look out the window? Which side of the train is best?

Leaving DC you'll prefer the left side if you want the unobstructed view of the Potomac River. The river 'changes sides' when you cross the bridge into Harper's Ferry.
