Is there a place to check luggage at Chicago's Union Station when you don't have a sleeper and so cannot use the Metropolitan Lounge? Can you still use the Metropolitan Lounge but just pay a checked luggage fee? Or is there another place you must check your luggage? If the latter, is it real checking, or is it lockers?

there was a room off to the side of the baggage carosels that had an attendant and for a small fee you could keep your luggage there while you walked around or whatever. good luck

You are correct, but I believe that all of those lockers are full by mid-day. Makes it hard for people who come in later.
