I guess we can thank the beleagured UP/SP railroad for this mix up. The UP/SP have been doing a "tie" renewal project this summer. And it has caused the Coast Starlight to be at least 3-4 hours late a night. Now I come in from my day off and realize the train JUST LEFT OXN!!! Someone really needs to find a way to fine the freight railroads for causing delays like this. Their "schedule" was for the trains only to be delayed every other week. WHAT happened to that? The trains have been delayed non-stop!!!! It is very disappointing to work for the Company right now. I have to explain over and over again that we do not own the tracks, and that we are extemely sorry for this delay. I almost expect an automated announcement to be made for the delays account of this!!!

i was on that train that was 19 hours late it was horrible!! we had 3 medical emergncies two had to have ambulances come to the train. the tolets over flowed, it was way late! they ran out of food (which cost an arm and a leg.. but we were stuck on the train so many had no choice)but yeah they ran out so we all got to be hungery... then they made us switch to a communer train that was not made for long travel at 12 at night!it was extremely uncomftable. then when i arrived at my final destination i had to wait another hour becuase our train didnt have oor luggage on it!
