We're taking our trip on the Starlate in April. Since it is a 100% certainty that the NB Starlate will not arrive into OLW early, My boyfriend and I were thinking of booking a hotel/motel room close to the Amtrak station in case the train runs more than two hours late (we don't want to burden the person who is supposed to pick us up by having her get up at 10:30pm to pick us up from a late-by-four-hours train.), but we are unsure of any hotels or motels close by. Could someone recommend one?

Next voyage on the STARLATE (and first on the Capitol Corridor):
April 8-11
LAX-SAC-RLN-SAC-BFD-RIV

My daughters live in OLW...I travelled there by Empire Builder and Cascades this past June. There are no hotel/motels within walking distance. You will have to call for a cab. I always stay at Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express on corner of College and Martin. Both run around $85 per night for a double and both have indoor pool and free continental breakfast. There is also a Days Inn and a Super 8 on the same corner. Good Luck!!!

Ms. Aviva (or is it Ms. Dawn?) - please keep in mind that the OLW (Olympia-Lacey) AMTRAK station is NOT in the city of Olympia!! It is at a rural crossroads some distance from town, so when you get there, you will need to go into town by taxi or be picked up or something...
