Sorry, I thought of one more question. Do we need to bring our own towels or does Amtrak provide them to people who have bedrooms?

Amtrak provides towels and washcloths, as well as sheets, pillows, blankets, hand soap, Dixie cups, and tissues. I don't recall if there are shampoo dispensers in the showers. Though I've never needed to ask, I have read that the car attendants may have other toiletry items available (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) in case you forgot yours.
