Has the simplified dining service been started on the Coast Starlight? We are traveling on April 20 and are hoping for real dishes and griddle items.

Hello, It will start on May 3. I just got off the 11 this morning at 5am (Actually a bus). The dining car had a regular menu and dished on the way up, on the way back it was all paper and plastic besides silverware, but the menu was the same.

How late were you into SBA?

I assume that's where you got on the bus?

Yes, We got in Santa Barbara after 2am I think. I am unsure if this bus will be a regular thing...We only found out about it 6 or so hours before arriving.
