It's been about 2.5 years since my last train journey, although we've logged quite a few miles in the last 10 years or so. This trip is just a quick one from Springfield, MA down to Atlanta, leaving this Sunday morning. We'll be switching at NYP to board the Crescent, which was a good decision (vs boarding at WAS) since the train is now full and there will be 4 of us riding coach.

I notice they list possible delays on the Crescent. We have someone meeting us at the Atlanta terminal, so how late has it been lately?

We're also going to test out the Business Class seats from Springfield down to New York.

Maybe one to two hours late for the Crescent lately. Northbound seems to be a little worse but who knows what could happen on a given date. Far better than the trains over on CSX.....but don't make plans to join your friends in Atlanta for breakfast.....maybe not even lunch but that would be extreme for the Crescent.

The trip went fine and we made it into Atlanta only 10 minutes down. There were a few delays along the way, but the slack time in the schedule took care of those.

Business Class from SPG to NYP was nice and worth the upgrade.

I checked on sleepers after DC, but they were overbooked by 2 already. They said they got rid of the crew cars so the crew ends up taking up about half the sleepers right off the bat!
