I assume some people here are Amtrak Select members and was wondering what particular benefits you enjoy. Thanks!

You can find the information you need at www.amtrakguestrewards.com . I earned Select status for travel I did in 2004 but did not qualify based on my travel in 2005 but they extended my status as a courtesy for 2006.
There are bonus points involved as well as some "free" upgrades and passes to the Acela/Metroplitan lounges if you are not in a Sleeper. There is also a dedicated phone number for reservations and point redemption for Select members.
Hope that helps,

Are the passes to the Acela lounge also good at Metropolitan lounges (as in, Chicago)? It only says Club Acela access... can I use them at the Metropolitan lounges too?
AND... if you have that access, do you get to board the train at the same time as the sleeping car passengers do? (getting a nice pick of the coach seats).
Just curious, I just got Select status and hope to get Select+ by the end of the year.

Good Question. I would imagine the passes would be good at Club Acela and the Metropolitan Lounges as well as the Lounge in New Orleans (Magnolia Room???).
I don't know about boarding with the sleeper passengers but it would be worth asking.

I, personally, was excited to receive the pre-printed luggage tags (especially in light of the current state of security "awareness")
