I went to Fullerton today and took some pictures, they arent very good so I'm going back tomarrow to reshoot but I guess you guys might want to have a look

Actually, they're nice - especially the last one. Like most things, photography is just one of those things you have to practise, practise, practise. Even professional photographers take hundreds of dud snaps before they get a decent one. At least with digital cameras you can do that very cheaply.
If you can get a green on that signal in the foreground, then so much the better. It doesn't improve the visuals but does improve the mental representation - more positive (green, free, go) than negative (red, stop, blood, danger).

One of the things I like about checking the forum first thing in the morning is getting an early look at what you west coast guys were talking about before turning in just a few hours earlier.
Jonathon - I like that you were going for more of a side shot. Those are tough with moving trains and fading light......but with your ambition and, as Geoff says, practice, I think you'll get some that you'll be happy with.

I think your photos are really great, why do you think they are bad? They look very cool and I love the deep color in all of them. Are you shooting on 35mm film or is this a digital camera?
