I have never ridden Acela Express. We (2 adults 3 kids )are traveling to Newark to begin our vacation cruise. I understand there is no checked baggage service. We will have about 8 suitcases. Is this going to be a problem? Any suggestions or comments would be welcomed.

Very easily handled by having a redcap assist you with boarding at 30th st. and he will then call Newark to have redcap meet your car on the train and he will transfer you to your taxi, etc.
Enjoy your cruise.

(1) you could take the regional instead. According to the time table Newark does have checked baggage.Or (2) each person is allowed 2 pieces of luggagenot including purses, brief cases etc. So if there are 4 of you 8 pieces would work out ok. Check page 125 in the time table for info. Are you sure about the no checked baggage? I would call Amtrak and double check

I can't answer your baggage question, but I just rode Acela for the first time a few weeks ago. I went round-trip from Washinton DC to Philly's 30th Street Station. I was impressed with the Acela service. The "whoosh" when you go flying by another Acela at high speed is a neat experience.
