I saw a derailment similar to this in July, when the Silver Star hit a truck in Plant City, Florida.

It could have been prevented had the driver of the truck remembered his CDL training and not pulled onto a railroad crossing that he would not be able to clear without stopping.
That's in the CDL manuals.....trust me.

The 2 engines didn't derail, however the middle coaches did. Could this be the result of hard braking or emergency braking.
