Sojourner -

My wife (who was not yet my wife) and I spent a night in Dodge City, KS on a driving trip in 1997. I particularly liked Dodge City because that was one of the three stops where we took a hotel. The other two weeks we stayed in campgrounds and camped out of the back of our vehicle. But I digress.

Dodge City had a strip along the main drag that resorted to being just a tad touristy BUT it was mostly what it was.....a western outpost which became an old cow town and is now a bigger old cow town. We bought some postcards, went to a unique house museum a few blocks from the train station (which was undergoing renovation at the time), and slipped out of town holding our noses to block the aroma from the stockyards at the edge of town.

Ms Kendall, a good site to visit would be the cruise critic forums, my apologies if its already been mentioned or you've previously visited the site. Lots of good info there. Also I just returned from a cruise to the Mexican Riviera and had a great time as I am sure you will also.

Also if you want have a peek at what your going to see I will send a link to my pics of that trip, I accidently loaded the pics in reverse order so if you decide to have a look please start at the last page and work you way forward. Or you can just skip around and look at those that interest you. When you get to my flicker page just click on the Mexican Riviers link.

Thanks for the link to the pics, Cubzo. Looks like a good trip. We had a similar cabin last Fall on Island Princess Vancouver to Los Angeles. Nice but the two TV's puzzled me. Why not one larger one on a swivel. There was no way to shut off the bed and sitting areas from each other.

Kendall--

I swear by cruisecritic. There may well be a "Roll Call" for your sailing. This is like a BB for people booked on that trip. We've met some great people even before we sailed by being active there.

I'm pretty sure the model is still there, but better yet walk a few blocks and see the real thing. The Aircraft carrier is the USS Midway which is now permanently "in port" in San Diego and worth a visit.
