Does any one have messages for the numbers of let go managers when Amtrak started furloughing employees back in March. I would love to hear accurate numbers from around the country. Over 1000 hard working real workers are now gone, but how about the coffee drinking, feet on the desk, overpaid management? Any Ideas on numbers...It would be interesting to know this.

I work on 7&8 and the word is that they are looking for three more PLS's. One in MSP one in SPK and at least one in CHI Maybe three.
I though We where out of money....? When I go to work there are two or even some times four PLS's setting in the run thru office in CHI. Doing nuthing. The phone does not even ring.
I ask them for infor on my trip like how many pepole or are there any groups? And they look at me like I am asking the inposable.Do they have a clue what we as onboad employees do?
I work out of Seattle and it is allmost as bad.
Something has to be done weather it is starting all over again? Or fireing all mid level mangement.

The Chief on Board Service position were abolished & the Chiefs were then made PLS's. They now make more money, do less and only now & then ride the trains & from my observation, in particular, on the Crescent, create havoc on a train that had the best on board crew I have had the pleasure to travel with. The PLS's should be put to work on the trains, in the stations & anywhere else they are needed. If they can't do the job then send them to Beech Grove to fix the wrecked cars.
