I'm assuming you already have the tickets in-hand? If so, go ahead and call AGR when they open this morning and ask them what address you should send them to. Their address is in Minnesota. I suggest using FedEx or similar so that the package can be tracked and signed for. Once they have the tickets back in their hands, they should be able to put the points back into your account, but you can confirm this when you give them a call. (Just make sure you have the tickets tracked AND SIGNED FOR to avoid any problems from them getting lost in the mail or AGR saying, "We never received them".)
I hope your mother-in-law is doing okay.

I have not received the tickets - I think I am supposed to pick them up at the station.
Should I go get them today?
Thanks,
Mark
PS - I think she is going to be okay but we can't be away right now. She will be in the hospital for a few more days and then move to a nursing home.

Mark, Call Amtrak Guest rewards; they will tell you what to do. I think it will be even easier if you haven't picked up the tickets yet. You should get your points back. Just call them; asking here won't do you any good! The tollfree number is on your Guest Rewards car, and the web site. They won't be open over the July 4 holiday so be sure to call them first thing Monday morning.

That's good news - thanks so much. I will call them on Monday morning.
We are really disappointed that we can't go - we haven't ridden the train since 2003. My wife is a teacher so it is difficult to get away except in the summer. Perhaps next year...

A couple of years ago I had to cancel a trip that I had purchased (as opposed to AGR points) and the agent I spoke with was very understanding. As I recall, because it was at the last minute, they couldn't refund the money but they did give me a credit that was good for a year and then I was told I could get that reissued for another full year. The whole process was painless.

I called yesterday and they took care of it. I had to sit on hold for an eternity (or so it seemed). I just checked and the points are back in my account.
Thanks for all your help,
Mark
