Even though the blogger doesn't think much of some of the interior accouterments, he still likes the place as a whole.

There are some great pictures in this post, and the remodeled station is really nice compared to the old cavern it replaces. However the lack of some sort of restaurant is a continuing problem. I've heard (via local newspaper) that management wants a sit-down type of restaurant, but people have pointed out that making the train station an "eating destination" would require better parking access. It is a "fer piece" to the parking lot beyond the bus staging area at the west end of the building, and street parking is almost non-existent. Pick-up/drop-off area is often choked with taxis and handicapped parking is difficult to locate (and apparently shared with the main post office next door). I think luring a fast food chain would make sense - the well-regarded Wisconsin-based Culver's would be wonderful.
However, there is still a lot of road construction in the area, so I am hopeful the food situation will improve when that is completed. Right now, even the natives can't figure out how to get into the station!.

Ahh! Ms. McFarland, Culvers! What a wonderful idea. I can only guess though that with the limited hours that would generate money, most vendors are turning thier noses up at setting up shop in this station.
The difference between the old and new is so far apart that I can't compare them. The old station would drive me into an instant "doom & gloom" feel, it was so dark and depressing. The post office is supposedly moving to Oak Creek, just a half mile from where I live. That may be a opportunity in a few years for some additional parking.
Funny comment about natives not being able to find it! My dad had a heck of time when he picked us up from a trip to the Dells earlier this year.
