I saw this picture of the Cardinal http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=249964&nseq=117
and wondered if anyone knows if it runs with an extra coach now? Other pictures showed it with 1 x viewliner, 1 x lounge and 3 x amfleet, but it seems to have had 4 coaches on recently. Is business picking up on this route?

Is business picking up? Apparently not. Saw it go by my office in SW DC last week. P42, Viewliner sleeper, dinette, three coaches.

This really is a sad state of affairs. I can remember a couple of very pleasant trips aboard the Cardinal.....Baggage Car, two superliner sleepers, diner, sightseer lounge, three superliner coaches.

Surely this train is not handling as many passengers now as it was with this larger consist.
