Hi I live in Franklin 20 min south of nahsville and I was wondering if you had any information on Amtrak coming down here. I do know that they called Csx and told them to be ready, anything later then that please respond. Thank you :-)

I don't know of any plans AMTRAK has at this time to resume service to Nashville, unfortunately. Nashville has not had AMTRAK service since at least the early 70's. However, maybe someone else has heard something different -- like maybe plans to extend the Kentucky Cardinal from Louisville to nashville????

The Kentucky Cardinal was planned to run to Nashville and eventually further south. I understand that they have done time studies and took a test train over the tracks. They have talked to CSX? about the tracks and they are in good shape for passenger trains. Currently I do not know the status of this or if Amtrak has the available equipment but I'm under the impression that Louisville is pushing for this to happen.

Don'T forget Amtrak also took Tennesee repasenatives on a train ride from Nashville to Louisville. I need Amtrak dang it! lol
