I'm just looking at the route of 2/422 and comparing it to #3 that I just took this morning. If the Chief comes in from San Bernadino to Riverside and the Sunset/Eagle goes through Ontario to Palm Springs, the routes have to cross somewhere between those cities, right?

The routes cross at West Colton diamond. Just east of UP's West Colton yard.
