Texas State? Aren't they 'The Bobcats' athletically speaking? My wife and I passed through their campus and San Marcos looking for a nice 'non-chain' Mexican place for lunch about 5 years ago...... I thought it looked like a nice place to 'do college'.

Very impressive that you selected a college where you could commute to/from home using the train!.... I finally managed to do that when I went to grad school at the University of Maryland and lived two blocks from the College Park MARC commuter rail station. As an undergrad I couldn't pass on the opportunity for a tuition-free degree at my hometown college, even though the nearest passenger train station was 90 miles away!

And we did find 'THE' Mexican place that day too.....albeit not in San Marcos. Instead we found a place in an old house on Main Street in Buda, TX........ with a front porch view of the Union Pacific!

Climbing toward 5,000 posts like the Southwest Chief ascending Raton Pass. Cautiously, not nearly as fast as in the old days, and hoping to avoid premature reroutes.
