We've 'just' returned from a semi dreadful trip to western PA for train watching. It was cold, raining and windy. We cut our stay at the Tunnel Inn short and spent an extra day in the warmth of the Brigeview Inn watching the traffic on/about the Rockville Bridge. Since our return I've noticed an ad in the classified section of Trains for The Railroad House in Maritta, PA. I checked their website and while the facility appears to be very pleasant there isn't a whole lot of information on the ease/availability of train watching. Appreciate any information folks who may have stayed at the Inn could provide.

Never been there, but the Station Inn, 9 miles west of Horseshoe Curve, seems to have earned quite a bit of ink. There was a charming piece about it in the New York Times travel section last year. The link is at the top of the Inn's home page here:
