There was a derailment of a commuter train in NYP this morning that blocked service on the Empire Corridor route. Evidently, the Lake Shore Limited was routed as follows (rare mileage?):
From another website: "No. 49 will operate east (pulled backwards) from Pennsylvania Station to CP 216 (New Rochelle), then change ends and operate via Metro-North's New Haven Line to Woodlawn, Harlem Line to Mott Haven Junction, around the wye and up the Hudson Line from there."

For those geographically challenged, heading from New Rochelle to Woodlawn means heading back towards Grand Central, before veering off westwards near 150th St over the LSL's former route out of Grand Central. A trip of about 34 miles to Spuyten Duyvil instead of 9 up the west side! The Amtrak status isn't showing anything for 49(25) but 449(25) is about 2.5 hours down currently.
