Good question. I've been there many, many times---but I've never looked for a locker. Hopefully someone will have the answer.

That is a good question. I won't be able to take my pistol with me on the cruise (they do an airport-like screening), so that might be a viable way to store it until I get back.

Grin -- I don't believe there are any lockers at King Street, but it has been several years since I have been there.

I will likely be retiring "back up north" to your fine state in a few months.

There aren't any lockers at King Street, but bags can be left in the baggage room. I think the fee is $3/day.

Firearms? Can't say if they'll store them long term.

I recently got my nationwide CCW (per HR 218), and now I'll have to figure out how to bring my weapon when I fly. I know I can't carry it on, but I've been told that checking it is pretty easy.

I hope I am not straying too far from the topic but I felt compelled to join in the conversation concerning baggage and guns.
As to baggage, in Dallas the station staffers will keep your baggage for a fee ($3). In Pittsburgh they took our baggage, gave us a receipt and did not charge. Very friendly folks.
A few years ago I was returning from KCY to St. Louis. I was thinking about returning to KCY in the fall and meeting my son for the purpose of heading north out of KCY to go pheasant hunting (Bilby Ranch). So I asked the conductor if I could bring a shotgun aboard for the above-mentioned purpose. He said that it was not a problem. He indicated that all I would have to do is let him know when boarding and he would take of the shotgun. What a great way to travel.

FYI, I noticed recently that the Amtrak Web site now has information about baggage (and parking) at each station--these are great additions! If you go to the Web site, click Stations on the top, then type in the station you want (and scroll to the state), click that, then click the precise station you want if a list is given, you get to the place with all the info about that station. On the top, click Baggage, and the info will tell you if there is baggage handling, baggage storage, and lockers. I don't know if it's always up to date for every station, though, so it's probably still good to phone Amtrak and check.
