There was a brief news item on CNN Headline News...evidently yesterday (8/24) the Silver Palm died near Charleston, SC, and passengers were stuck during the day with no A/C for a couple of hours. Several charter buses were rounded up to continue the trip. news item did not specify Northbound or Southbound; I would guess Northbound.

It was actually the Silver Meteor #97. It eneded up being towed down to Miami were it arrived at 8 this morning. This trainset turned into todays Silver Star #92, which is now running around 3:30 late.
