Hi guys and gals! I'm on the the last leg of my trip. It's been great so far, and, as always, "way more positives than negatives." I was under the impression that all trains have wi-fi now, but they don't!!!! (but Vagabond Inn does!) The only wi-fi train so far has been the San Joaquin. I'll have a full report next week. Got into LAX today at 5 AM on #1!!! Took the thruway bus-#713-thruway bus connection to SAC, and am at Vagabond Inn tonight.

And how is the Vagabond Inn these days? Still a worthy suggestion for others?

Yes, the Vagabond is still worthy of suggesting to others! It's certainly conveniently located to both the SAC station and Old Sacramento (including the Cal. RR Museum)
It also fits the category of "Where is there a cheap motel near the Sacramento AMTRAK station?" (roughly $86/night, I believe)
