Glad that I didn't have to be in Atlanta by 8:30 today. Anyone know what happened to The Crescent 19? More than 8 hours behind.

Train 19 (7) was delayed several hours after a tresspasser was struck and killed...not sure if the Crescent was involved or whether it was another train. VRE trains also were delayed. Fatalities typically require a couple hours to investigate and clean up. This one seems to have taken longer plus the engine crew had to be relieved (typically this type of accident upsets the engineer(s) to that extent) plus the crew seems to have gone on the law. This will result in daylight service through the Carolinas and I bet the train is annulled in Atlanta or at least by Birmingham to permit on-time operation of # 20 tomorrow.

Update: 19 obviously ran through to NOL as 20(9) left there 6 hours late today. This no doubt was to allow for crew rest and time to service the train.
