I am skeptical that this would actually save lives, given that most people going around the barriers are fully aware that they are there, and those that aren't aware probably shouldn't be driving anyway and will take no notice of any GPS they might have. But hey, if it saves one life then it's worth it.

Obviously I "translated" from British English for the thread title. Sat[ellite]Nav[igation] being something that tells you where to go; GPS being something that tells you where you are and have been. Level crossing = grade crossing.

At this time, the GPS I use (Waze) is not prepared to denote railroad grade crossings. It's in future plans, but not present plans.
