Very interesting guide, Rich. I enjoyed the read as the WAS to JAX is a part of the country I've never seen. Very interesting as far as Civil War historic sites are concerned. I always wanted to visit Appomattox Court House, but I guess the easiest way would be to take the Crescent to Lynchburg-Roanoke and start out from there (?).
I don't think I want to attend "Heritage Day" in Ettrick, VA. The "haggis" dinner of sheep's pluck doesn't sound too appetizing.
I think "way down upon the Suwanee River" sounds better than "way down upon the Pee Dee River". Incidentally, one of the more interesting stories that was a subject on one of the late Paul Harvey's "rest of the story" stories, was about Stephen Foster. If they had copyright laws during his life, he probably would have died a multi millionaire. Instead, he died a pauper in a flop house in New York City, which was the "rest of the story".

That's an interesting story about Stephen Foster. I remember Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story."

Enjoyed your new route guide, RRich. With my history at Ashland, that section was particularly interesting. In fact I sent that portion to a group of my RMC college buddies that I still see a couple times a year and got many favorable comments. Maybe you should publish your guides, I’d buy a copy!
