I was going from Rochester ny to NYP(1/17/03). Just before Hudson station, the conductor was alerted to smoke in the other car behind us.He notified the engineer to shut off the head-end power to the train. He did a quick job, he had the car clear in about 20 seconds! He had the fire out just as fast. I was an electrical fire that occoured near the vestibule on the floor. He had to go outside and disconnect the power to the car and the passengers were seated on the other cars. Needless to say it was an experience!
