I heard on the St. Louis news yesterday that Amtrak was going to get rid of 2 of the 4 trains that go from or involve the cities: St. Louis, Chicago, and Kansas City

While I don't know the validity of this news, I suppose it is possible. It relies almost completely on Illinois and Missouri funding. Though this would be terribly upsetting to me, as I travel these lines quite a bit...to and from school. I guess I do question this news a little bit though, because it is the corridor that we have just gotten involved with spending millions of dollars on in order to upgrade it to high-speed. I don't know what to say about this.

I believe the Kentucky Cardinal is on the cutting block, but I haven't heard about other trains.

If this happend at least I would be able to enjoy my every other or so monthly joy ride from Kirkwood to downtown and back.
