Now that Canada has finally done away with its mask mandate, i can plan a trip on the Canadian again. This time I plan to ride in January. Never did the trip in winter before. Should be fun. Hopefully the dome will be there for us coach passengers.

Oh, and where did I get that line from? It's a line of script within the movie "Caught on a Train". From one who has "been over a time or two", it's a reasonably authentic flick, even if all the on-board filming is done aboard equipment standing at the Ostend, BE station. There are also authentic scenes shot at Frankfurt/Main as well.
To each his own of course; but grief, even at your, I somehow think, "thirtysomething" age, if it were me, someone best have a Ruger to my head before I'd even think of such a masochistic adventure.

Well Jim, if you R-E-A-L-L-Y plan to go through with your "assault course", this will not impact you.
Anyone else planning a "Canadian" journey - where anyone else around here would be riding - this development could greatly impact your plans.
Take heart Jim, I once knew face to face a "most economical gentleman". He would ride "Segunda" in Mexico!!!
