Where and in what condition is the "A". I know the "J" is safe and on display but the least I heard was that 1218 wasn't so lucky.

N&W class A 1218 is currently stored in the Paint Shop at Shaffers Crossing in Roanoke, along with a Boxcar full of parts. It was in the process of an overhaul when the Steam program was Cancelled, hence the boxcar full of parts.
