Well I've finally reached the point where I'm forced to deal with an issue I have avoided like en empty steam engine water glass . SPIRAL EASMENTS> Have to use one to raise the track level and keep the ruling grade around 2- 2.5%. It will be about 30 inch radius. Has anyone out there seen any articles on there construction recently? Sure could use some help. Thanks Scott Remember the Rio Grande! P.S. Richard...It was great reviewing all the replies to your who what and when!!!

Go to Model Train index http://index.mrmag.com/ Do a search for "easement" & "spiral" under keyword & you should get about 10 sources for info. Not sure why grades have anything to do w/ need for spiral curves.

Cajon, Thanks for the reply and the tip on the search, should have thought of that!. Maybe I'm not calling them the right thing, but what I'm refering to are those spiral thingies that get you from one level to another on a RR. Scott

You mean a "Helix"? I think that is what you are talking about anyway, from the sounds of what you are talking about.
