Help! can Any one help me find some one who can repair a Troller 1001 DC transformer? (its a big sucker) it had the record at one time for pulling 501 HO hopper cars. 140lbs.
manufactured by Troller Corp, Chicago.
they seem to be out of bussiness?

Yup! Troller's gone and I bet I can tell you what is wrong with yours. I hade a Troller that went belly up.
It is most likely the Metal Oxide Semiconducter Field Effect Transistor Ha! Ha! (MOSFET)
Without looking at it directly. I would lay odds on it! If I could look at it myself, I could fix it and I would back the 1 MOSFET up with 2 more in parrallel.
1 MOSFET will not handle a big load. It is most likely in a TO 220 case. Just get the numbers on it and triple them up.
