I'm not having much luck finding a motor for my lionel. I went to the web sites that were recommended, and even called the one. They couldn't help me because there is no part number on the little motor I need. I haven't been able to get to the tecks at Lionel; no answear so far. Maybe someone can point me in another direction. What I need is one of those little round ("can"?) motors. I suspect that a lot of trains have the same one, though I don't know that. It is to fit a late model (Lionel, LLC) 0-4-0 engine. The number on the side of the engine is 9053. The number on the whole drive line, wheels and all, is 8673-101, if that means anything. Probably if I knew a bit more about what I was doing I could search it out better on the web. However, the guy on one of the parts web sites just said "good luck"!!, meaning that he didn't know anywhere to get the motor. He said they had motor parts but no motors, and he couldn't help me identify the motor. -I might be able to finally get to talk to Lionel, if the tecks will answear their extension, but one of my calls to them gives me some doubts. ( I called and asked it they made a Shay engine. The lady said that she didn't know and that they had no way of knowing what all they had made over the years. Wow, that's management!!!!-Later she referred me to a brocheur)---Any how, thanks for any ideas that anyone might have about where I could find those little "can" motors and how to identify which one I need so that I could order it.
